Hi Damon

There is 4 hours left of school this year.
As the minutes tick away, I reflect on my week:
My french was about 60% this week during the actual french time.
My goal for the next few months is to speak more in french and I hope to really work on that after our nice long break.
I think I participated the most out of everyone in our class for the winter concert. I was the speaker but I think I became more the director of the project. Even though, there were moments when nobody was paying attention of listening to each other I thought everyone was super cooperative. I am so grateful for Seth who was completely in charge of the music and electronic part in which I know nothing about. We had some difficulties but he worked so hard on this project. I'm grateful for Damon and Ruby who both had to talk in the presentation and they were so nice and cooperative with everyone's ideas. The people in my dance group- Damon, Allison, Alex, Michael and Emily who helped me when I had no idea what I was doing. Without these people as well as the rest of the class this would have been literally impossible. I'm so happy about our presentations result because I think its a huge accomplishment for all the people in our class because we created this together, as a team. This really brought us together to make some of our relationships stronger and I got to know some more grade six's that I hadn't really worked with yet. I love our class this year. I feel that we have a special bond between all of us. It's almost an understanding that we will help each other out and catch each other when we fall. It makes everyone feel safe and included. I hope to continue this bond in the new year and i'm already excited for the new challenges and exciting activities to come in January.
I can't wait to see you and everyone in 2014!!
happy holidays

Hi Michael,

My french for this week is better than it has been seeming as I have set it as my goal and am sitting at a table with others who have the same goal.
I would say it was about 70 % during the designated french speaking times.
My goal, as I have mentioned before was to speak more french in class. The reason that I had found it difficult before was that I had a hard time knowing whether or not it was time to be speaking french or not. Some times in X it was unclear but now I understand. Now that I have set it as my goal I think that I will see an improvement.

Hi Jalena,

My goal this term is to speak more french and i think over the last week since my conference. I would say now im about 50% french in class and going upwards!
As I said before, my goal is to do better french-wise. This is big and VERY important to me seeming as it is almost for sure my last year in french immersion. I am doing better already!
During X i would say I am focused. I get a lot done and it is really helpful seeming as I redo my work many times and need all the time I can get.
I often dont have enough time to fully correct my dictee/spelling because im rushed at the end to finish. Although, now that I know that it is nessasary that I correct, I will make an effort.
Until next week,
maggie.

Hi Ruby,

My Frnach was about 38% unfortunatly. I want to do better but i can't tell when its time to speak french or not.
My drama skills, I am good at projecting my voice so that im heard in the videos we are making.
I normally think of a good story line for my stories so i think that is one thing i do well.
The thing i would improve on is my charecters that could be more developed

Hi Jalena!

I have a lot to write this week but i won't get to writing it all today because I have had difficulties with my blogspot acount it keeps on dening me acess and i have spend the last hour trying to get it to work (unsecessfully) and now i have 10 minutes to write it all so here is all i can write but i will try to finish it at home:

My Goal: To speak more french. Its possibly my last year in french imersion and i want to make the most of it. I also want to have a lot better french for quebec!

Obstacles: There a lot of people around me who speak alot of english and it makes it difficult. I need to remind myself constatly what language we are in at the present moment.

What can help me: I could make a visual reminder that i will see constatly.

I will know ive reached my goal when i only catch myself speaking english durring english classes and i don't need the reminder anymore

Hi michael!

im sorry its taking me so long to post this my computer is having some problems with internet connectivity
and i just wrote all this and it deleted....annoying.
As i wrote in my other text i think i spoke about 40%  but on a more positive note i think i can do better.
My persistance- im persit ( i think). i  have redone alot of my projects based on feedback to make them better.  Me, Alex and Luke D have done well so far on our math/science test our plane is amazing because luke knows a ton on the subject but me and alex are also helping to make this a group effort.
Im excited about this its the best science or math test ive ever taken.
Have a good weekend!

Rememberance day Friday

Can I take a momment to REMEMBER my week
My french was about 40% and i feel im going upward and doing better.
I hope to get better over the next month and my goal is to get a high  of 80% by the end of the month.
It might be my last year in french imersion and i need to make the most of it. Starting week im going to have a note tapped to my desk reminding to speak french.

I create trust in class by helping the younger grade sixs with their math and other problems. I contribute in this way making them feel involved and part of the community that is our class.

I can create mistrust by being a bit loud and talkative that can be slightly intimidating. I really don't mean to be intimating its part of my personality and i think that people will get used to it but i will step back a bit.

Thats all for this week!

Its Halloween's past sadness Friday

French this week probably about 40% but i really need to bring it together and do better this month. I am really going to put more effort into it i just need to think of someway to remind myself. I would normally write it on my hand but i recently learned that the ink is bad for you. It sinks into your skin and goes into your blood flow.

I really think i do participate but sometimes i wonder if i participate to much. I think its a really good idea to speak up but at the same time its good to step back sometimes and hear other people. I would love to be able to say i dont have side conversations but damon constatly is making me laugh he is increadibly funny and sometimes i lose focus. Next week I am going to be sitting beside someone new and i think i can improve.

This week i am proud of my advancement in my portfolios and my ancester projects. I am down to only 5 minutes as oposed to 20.

I really want to improve on my french so i can write next week that i did better.

HAPPY LATE HALLOWEEN!

ITS NOT FRIDAY

It's not Friday and that is not a lie.
It's Thursday the day that comes before Friday and after Wednesday.
It's a good day and this last week has been a good week I spoke about 40% french but going back on last weeks post it is still slightly unclear what is french time and what is english.
I do my best to contribute to the responsabilitys but what I do in my groupe is we each do a day so everyone does something but I did the responsablilitys on the first day and we can and F and now no one in my groupe does there work

Goodbye

Friday the 18!

Hello Damon!
This week I would say I spoke about 30% french but I have no idea when its time to speak french and when it's english. because during X if your working on an english project do you speak english? or should you still speak in french? If the class discusion is in french oviously we speak french but sometimes its sort of unclear because we switch languages so fast. M.D sometime even mixes the languages together to make a whole new language.
I am doing o.k with the deadlines but sometimes it's a bit of a tight cut with some of the projects. I am trying to redo some of the projects based on my feedback but I just have so many others to hand in and I feel I need to put those first. I have no complaints on the deadlines we have right now but we'll see.
I'm really proud of my work on the advanced  buddy reading project with hugh. Even though we have missed a bunch of class I am still able to keep up. Also hugh, seth and daniel have not been super focused all of the time and I am helping and keeping us on track with that.

I really need to sleep this weekend,
zzzzzzzzzzz................

Thanks Giving friday post number 2

Thanksgiving friday (the friday before thanksgiving):
This week, during french speaking classes I spoke about 70% french.
I think that my focus during X was about 85% this week so there is always room for improvment
I could improve by communicating better with my group members on what day we are going to focus on our project so we all know to reserve our X for that.
Me and Hugh have been doing an advanced buddy reading thing this week so I have missed some project time I hope I can catch up next week.

Friday October 4 2013

My first BLOG POST! yay!!!
My french was about 70% this week-slightly improved from last week. I am very proud of my contribuation this week to my table groupe by helping some of the grade sixs (liam in particular) with math (pedmas, order of operations).  One thing i could improve on is incouraging the people in our table groupe to put away their things our table can sometimes be messy.  My goal for this week was to talk less and listen more. I think i acheived that goal but it was a little strange not participating as much. I think i leaarned a lot of things from doing that about the people in our class and payed more attention to what other people had to say. When I am so involved in the conversation i tend to pay less attention to what people have to say.
